RUSSELL DOMINGO – HEAD COACH

Former South Africa and Bangladesh head coach, Russell Domingo, was appointed as head coach of the DP World Lions Men’s team in June 2023, replacing Wandile Gwavu who took up a position with the Proteas.

Domingo began his national coaching career with the SAU19 team in 2004. The following year he was named head coach of the Warriors franchise, and lead the side to victory in the domestic One-Day and T20 competitions during the 2009-10 season, as well as coaching the team at the 2010 & 2011 Champions League Twenty20.

JIMMY KGAMADI – ASSISTANT COACH

Jimmy Kgamadi was named as the DP World Lions assistant coach ahead of South Africa’s 2021-22 domestic season, working under head coach Wandile Gwavu.

Jimmy was an assistant coach at North West prior to moving to DP World Lions.

PRASANNA AGORAM – HIGH PERFORMANCE MANAGER

Teams Prassanna has worked for include the Proteas, IPL (RCB,DD,RPSG & PKS), Big Bash (Melbourne Stars), T10 League (Bengal Tigers & Deccan Gladiators), U19 World Cup (India – 2006) and Indian Hockey (2006-2007).

ZIYAAD MAHOMED – PHYSIOTHERAPIST

He has been the head physiotherapist at Lions Cricket since July 2020, currently serving as a physiotherapist at the Wanderers Sports Medical Centre for over 5 years.

NANDILE TYALI – STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH

Nandile was born in King Williams Town in the Eastern Cape and went to Dale Junior then Selborne College where he received the Jacques Kallis Bursary as a cricketer.

After matriculating Nandile went to the University of Fort Hare where he studied sport and exercise physiology degree and then honours through Cricket South Africas Study and Cricket Bursary. He went on to be employed by CSA and worked at Fort Hare Academy through CSA and Warriors Camps at age levels then National Academy where he then moved to the DP World Lions in August 2018.
